CFP: 34th Annual Conference for Value Inquiry at Adrian College: Social Justice and Individual Responsibility

Adrian College will host the 34th Annual Conference for Value Inquiry. Our aim is to bring together scholars from diverse academic fields such as philosophy, English, the social sciences, law, and medicine, to provide an opportunity to discuss the theoretical and practical aspects of justice and moral responsibility. We currently have over 50 submissions from across the U.S., Canada, England, India, the Phillipines, Mexico, and Nigeria. The conference will be held at Adrian College, in Adrian Michigan, April 12-15, 2007. Invited speakers include Loren Lomasky, Cory Professor of Political Philosophy at the University of Virginia, Policy and Law, George Agich, Professor of Philosophy and and Director of Bowling Green State University’s BGeXperience program James Stacey Taylor, Assistant Professor of Philosophy at The College of New Jersey and President of the American Society for Value Inquiry.
Call For Papers
We welcome the submission of papers, proposals, abstracts, and ideas for panel sessions relating to our conference theme, although all submissions on ethics and value theory will be considered. The conference will be interdisciplinary, and submissions from professional at any stage of their career are welcome. This includes undergraduates, as we hope to include several undergraduate sessions. Possible themes to be explored include social justice and individual responsibility as it relates to: healthcare, business ethics, war and peace, the media, faith, and education. We are also seeking commentators and session chairs.
