Call for Proposals to Participate

This interdisciplinary conference uses Jean Gebser’s evolutionary schema as a jumping off point for looking critically and creatively at current evolutionary trends in culture, ecology, and mind. If we seriously entertain the thesis that we are moving into Gebser’s Integral Period, large questions arise:

  • What might this Integral Period look like?
  • What do those who see themselves as already participating in this psycho-historical shift bring to it in terms of techniques and worldview?
  • How do the periods that have preceded the Integral Period factor into it?
  • What does it mean to evolve?
  • What constitutes spirituality in the 21st Century?
  • How does the present open a world, limit a world, destroy a world, protect a world, or enliven a world?
  • What are the modalities of human evolution that philosophy, art, and music might address?
  • How can we co-create and participate in a better world as teachers, artists, and activists?
  • Who is moved to participate more consciously in evolution and why?
  • What do particular forms or modes of philosophy and spirituality do for us or to us?
  • What is the connection between theoretical and practical concerns in this paradigm?
